A builder, peace maker and philanthropy, A Man who has decided to dedicated his life to the Services of humanity.  High Chief Matthew Okuye Cheqwe, was born on 30th January 1956 at Umutu in Ukwuani Local Government of Delta State, Born into the family of Chief George Assuai Cheqwe and Madam Etu Ijor Alonu. He attended St. Michael Chatolic School, Umutu from 1964 to 1969; he also attended St. John II Primary School, Agbor Boji Boji from 1970 to 1971.  He attended St. Georges Grammar School, Obinomba from 1972 to 1976.

He work as an Auxiliary Teacher from 1976 to 1980, during this period, he obtained G.C.E “A” Level in Accounting, Economics and Business Management and Royal Society of Arts (RSA Stage III Advanced) from Britain, in Accounting, Cost Accounting, and Commercial Law.  In September 1980 he joined Union Bank Nigeria Plc and rose to the rank of Accountant and retired in 2008.  While still with the Bank, he did his professional banking examination A.I.B with Nigerian Institute of Bankers.  Thereafter, he began to nurture his private business, starting from food stuff items and finally moved to project financing, advisory and consultant.

He is happily married with children and grand children.
