Mr. Speaker, Mr. Vice President, members of Congress, my fellow Americans:

We are 15 years into this new century. Fifteen years that dawned with terror touching our shores; that unfolded with a new generation fighting two long and costly wars; that saw a vicious recession spread across our nation and the world. It has been, and still is, a hard time for many.

But tonight, we turn the page.

 

Tonight, after a breakthrough year for America, our economy is growing and creating jobs at the fastest pace since 1999. Our unemployment rate is now lower than it was before the financial crisis. More of our kids are graduating than ever before; more of our people are insured than ever before; we are as free from the grip of foreign oil as we've been in almost 30 years.

1. I greet and felicitate with you all as we enter the New Year today. As we mark the beginning of this New Year, 2015, a new nation is being born.A new nation is being born because of the foundations we have all laid, working together for the good and progress of our dear fatherland.

2. I join you all in thanking God Almighty who has brought us this far, for continually bestowing His Grace upon us and for guiding our great nation safely through all the challenges of the past year.

3. This year, as in the year past, I reaffirm my commitment to work to ensure a secure future for our dear country and the generations yet unborn.

4. Last year, we celebrated our hundredth year of nationhood. The year brought us further progress, challenges and fresh opportunities.

5. We have contended with the normal challenges of nation-building and the unusual challenges of terrorism.

UMAR NASKO: THE HOPE OF NIGER STATE

It is the dream of every Nigerian youth to see young people assuming leadership position in the country. While women are advocating for 35% Affirmative Action, Nigerian youths are still struggling to be in the National Assembly especially the Senate. In the lower chamber of the National Assembly, we only have few young people which is not up to 7% and this development is very disappointing as our leaders do not create room for young people to succeed them. But all hope is not lost as Nigerian youths will be happy to have one of them as executive governor of Niger State. The aspiration of Umar Nasko is a welcome development and it is on this note that I join the good people of Niger State to support UMAR NASKO for Governors position in 2015. Below is his profile and interview on how he want to govern Niger State.

Born 40 years ago, on 13th March, 1975, at Ogbomosho, Oyo State, Alhaji Umar Mohammed Nasko is a Native of Magama Local Government Area of Niger State. He received his early education at Command Children's School, Ann Barracks Yaba, Lagos from 1980 to 1985 during which period he showed signs of great appetite for education and training.
