ABDUALLHI DIKKO INDE (OFR) An Exemplary Custom Officer


Abdullahi Dikko, was born on May 11, 1960 to the family of Abdullahi Usman Inde, at Musawa in Musawa Local Government Area of Katsina State. He started his early education in 1967 at Musawa Primary School, Musawa where he obtained his first School Leaving Certificate. Thereafter he proceeded to Government College, Kaduna in 1974 to 1975, where he obtained the West Africa School Certificate in 1980. He was the House Captain of Elkanemi House. He also attended leadership training at the University of Pittsburg, USA.

At the end of his
secondary school education, he proceeded to the University of Dimitrov Apostle Tshenov, Suishtov, Bulgaria where he graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Economics. His quest for education made him to acquire his Master's Degree in Finance with special emphasis on Investment Finance from the University of D.A. Tsenov-Suishtov Bulgaria. Having worked briefly with Kaduna State Audit Headquarters, he sat for the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAM) qualifying examinations and qualified as an accountant thereby becoming a member of Certified National Accountants and Nigeria Institute of Management.

He enlisted in the Superintendent Cadre of the Nigerian Customs Service in 1988. From 1988 when he enlisted in the Nigeria Customs Service, he made tremendous progress by rising to the rank of an Assistant Comptroller-General within a few years. His promotion was quite rapid as he quickly rose to the rank of an Assistant Comptroller-General within a few years, but because of his performance over the years, he was given a very prominent position of the ACG Headquarters from there and in no time, he was made the Comptroller-General of Customs.

He was appointed a member of the Port Decongestion Committee in 1994. This snowballed into his appointment in 2001 to open Phase II and III of the Kirikiri Lighter Terminal to ease congestion. It is expected that with the antecedent of this noble officer, who is so passionate, a lot of positive changes is expected in the service.

He has served in several customs commands which include Tincan Island Port, Apapa, Imo Command, Kaduna, Investigation and Inspection Headquarters, Abuja, Badagry Area Command, Seme Border, ACGHeadquarters, Comptroller-General of Customs.

In recognition of his performance while in Tin Can Island Port, he was awarded a commendation from the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA). As the Customs Area Controller of the Badagry Area Command, a Command that oversees the nation's premier border with regards to revenue collection and trade facilitation and as the ACG Headquarters, he was flooded with several awards for excellent performance.
The award increased with his appointment as the Comptroller-General of Customs.

In recognition of his prominence, the National Council of Managing Directors of Licensed Customs Agent's Award of the Best Anti Smuggling Command of the year 2007 was bestowed on him.

International Freight Forwards Association Award of the Highest CAC Revenue Collector of the year 2007.

Maritime Watch Outstanding Service Award, 2007.
Badagry Prime Award for Excellence, 2007.
National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Lagos axis Award of Excellence as the Bureaucrat of peace and for his outstanding performance.

His hobbies majorly is early morning jogging. He does more of this to keep himself fit mentally and physically.
